1. Information We Collect

We collect only what you give us directly:

• Account information: display name and email address (and Google account name/photo if you sign in with Google)
• Subscription data you enter: service name, cost, currency, billing cycle, category, start date, usage frequency, and optional notes
• Your currency and theme preferences
• Reviews you submit (if any) — name, role, content, rating
• Support emails when you contact us

We never collect bank account details, card numbers, transaction history, or any data from a financial institution. There is no bank-linking feature.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Send you renewal reminders and notifications
• Provide customer support
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

The third parties involved are:

• Google Firebase (Firestore + Authentication) — stores your account, subscription data, and reviews. Hosted by Google under their standard enterprise data-processing terms.
• Vercel — hosts and serves the SubWiz website.
• Google Analytics 4 — aggregate, anonymised usage analytics so we know which pages people visit. No subscription data is sent to Google Analytics. IP addresses are anonymised.
• FX Rates API (fxratesapi.com) — provides daily exchange rates. We send no user data to this API; it's a one-way rate lookup.

Beyond those infrastructure providers, we share information only (a) with your explicit consent, (b) to comply with a legal request, or (c) to protect our rights and safety.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

• Encryption of data in transit and at rest
• Regular security assessments
• Access controls and authentication
• Secure data centers and infrastructure

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Object to processing of your personal information
• Request data portability (PDF/CSV export ships Q2 2026; until then email us and we'll send your data manually)

To exercise any of these rights, email support@subwiz.app. Data deletion requests are honoured within 48 hours.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use a minimal set of cookies and local-storage keys:

• Firebase Authentication cookies — to keep you signed in
• subwiz-theme — remembers your light/dark preference
• subwiz-display-currency — remembers your home currency
• subwiz_exchange_rates — caches FX rates locally so we don't re-fetch them on every page load
• Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) — anonymised analytics with IP anonymisation enabled

You can clear these at any time via your browser settings.

8. Third-Party Services

Our service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external services.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on our website and via email.
